After my underwhelming stay at Balibbu I moved closer to center. I lost count of how many hostels I went door to door to the previous night just to score this one. And it’s the same price as Balibbu.
Puji Bungalow | Jl. Bisma, Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571, Indonesia
The ultimate selling point: damn that bathroom was clean! And organized. To be fair to my all-female roommates, even though we were damn comfortable in that bathroom, leaving our toiletries there, we minded our things, not encroaching any one else’s theoretical space. Nevermind that I was sleeping on the top bunk with ceiling so low (or bunk bed so high), that I always had to flatten myself on the bed, else I hit my head to the ceiling fan. Unlike at Balibbu, the bed was comfortable and didn’t squeak every time I move.
It had a nice view too. Perfect for post-card writing. Unfortunately, as is the Ubud-crowd, I found my roommates kinda…pretentious? I dunno. At that point I was so used to being by myself, despite my claims of wanting to make friends, they must have thought I was the pretentious one.
